Machinery Insurance covers Plant and Machinery successfully tested and commissioned for normal production against all sudden and unforeseen breakdown.

Machinery Insurance cover is also extended for plant, machinery and mechanical equipment during operation or at rest or being dismantled for the purpose of cleaning or overhauling within the premises or during subsequent re-erection. All types of Machinery, Plant, electrical and mechanical equipment may be covered under Machinery Insurance against “all risks accident" supplementing the coverage offered by fire insurance.

Riot Strike Damage
Riot & Strike is a loss of or damage to property insured directly caused by Act of any person taking part together with others in any disturbance of public peace
Malicious damage
It covers damage other than by Fire maliciously cause by persons which are not strikers or locked out workers and who are not taking part in any disturbance of the public peace
Earthquake (Fire & Shock)
Loss or damage (including loss or damage by Fire) to any of the property insured occasioned or by through or in consequence of earthquake excluding flood overflow
Atmospheric Disturbance damage
Loss or damage directly caused by storm, Cyclone, Typhoon, tempest, Hurricane, Tornado, Flood and inundation
Impact damage
The loss or damage cause to the insured property occasioned by impact with any road vehicle (the vehicle should not belong to or under control of the insured)
Aircraft damage
It covers loss or damage to the property insured (by fire or otherwise) directly caused by Aircraft other aerial devices and/or articles dropped
Explosion
Loss or damage to the property directly caused by Explosion.
Section 1 – Material Damage
Loss or damage covered under machinery insurance due to the following causes:
- Faulty design
- Faults at workshop or in erection
- Defects in casting and material and manufacturing
- Faulty operation, lack of skill, negligence, malicious acts
- Tearing apart on account of centrifugal force
- Physical explosion, flue gas explosion in boilers
- Electrical causes such as short circuit
- Shortage of water in boilers
- Storm, frost, drifting ice
